Nan’an Village in Fenshi Town is located to the south of the Wushui Lake in Linwu County. There are 2,168 people living in eight natural villages in the village.
In May 2021, a work team for rural rejuvenation arrived in Nan’an Village.
Holding the idea of making its people wealthier, the industries more developed, the environment more pleasant, the culture more civilized and the management more efficient, the team has actively carried out the work to make the village more beautiful and more habitable in a sustainable manner.
With the support and guidance of the team, He Jianping, a farmer in the village, established a cooperative and planted more than 200 mu (about 13.33 hectares) of cabbage.
In addition, another 400 mu (around 26.67 hectares) of land has been prepared to grow roasted tobacco. The cooperative not only plants two turns of corn and one turn of cabbage on the same patches of land but also grows rice and tobacco alternately on the same patches of land.
These growing methods have been proved to be successful as the income of the cooperative has exceeded 1.5 million yuan. Many workers are engaged in nurturing macrolepiota albuminosa in the planting base.
By the end of last year, the base had sold over 20,000 jin (10,000 kilograms) of macrolepiota albuminosa, earning more than 400,000 yuan.
Now that the second phase of the base has been done, its overall area will increase by over 3,000 square meters. It is learned that the cooperatives in the village offer more than 200 jobs to the local people every year with a monthly salary reaching 2,000 yuan.
It is a wealth of talent that plays a key role in village rejuvenation. To improve the ability and cohesion of the Party branch in the village, the work team and the branch people hold meetings every week to learn advanced methodologies.
Other than that, the village formulated the details of the examination for the captains of villagers to lift the zeal of the captains for their jobs.
The village not only held symposiums for students who had done well in the high school entrance examination or the national college entrance examination, but also raised education funds of more than 380,000 yuan for over 40 students.
Besides, the work team launched activities to attract the villagers to start business in their hometown.
The culture in a village is the spirit of rural rejuvenation. Nan’an Village actively carries out activities to boost the construction of a prefectural-level civilized village. It also utilizes wireless loudspeakers in publicity to ensure that people take good charge of the infrastructure, sanitation, green space, and order at their doorstops.
Sanitation is taken as a criterion for a prize or punishment. The village also established an association for the elderly, holding activities to choose the best elderly people, families, and young people kind to the elderly.
To show concern for the empty nesters and left-behind children and women, the village prepared colorful cultural activities for the elderly, helped more than 60 left-behind children in the village get volunteering assistance, and supported 15 empty-nesters in their houses.
In 2021, with the village becoming more attractive, Nan’an Village succeeded in building itself as a provincial-level sanitary village.
Fruitful results can be found in the accomplished road across the natural villages, the canal, the upgraded dam, and the new activity center in the village.
Other than that, the roads in the natural villages have been hardened, contributing to safer and more convenient public transportation. In addition, speed bumps, traffic identifiers as well as signs have been installed along the provincial road .
Additionally, 26 street lamps have been mended.
